starting my social action
Here is the place I am doing my social service with my classmate Angie Sandoval. Hogar San José is an asylum which recruits old people. Those elders are separate according to their genre and mental capacity. Their average age is from to 60 to up. Here they receive general and basic attention like being feed, wash their clothes and also help them to shower. During the day they share a big room where they spend the time washing TV, listen to the radio or talking with someone. They are allowed to receive visits or volunteer like us. We choose this place because it is opportunity to know closely what is on their mind at that stage of their life, how was their transition to maturity, We also want to know their necessities and see if it possible to help them is some way. Finally we want to know what our role in this society as individual is and connect this experience with our class.
